Most of my early professional work was ethnographic, having received doctoral training in anthropology. I later began crafting stories with materials, sounds and light to express what is beyond language. I still work in relationship with people but mostly, nowadays, with plants and soils whose lessons are far worthier of our attention.

Suspension Bridges become Human Harps.

 British artist+researcher Di Manistone and team of musicians, technologists and industrial designers is turning world bridges into instruments. This short doc was released earlier this week about Di’s Eyebeam residency that inspired the now global project + spring happening at the Brooklyn Bridge.

Human Harp connects the human body to the instrument-like architecture of existing structures and enables pedestrians and dancers to interact in the translation of journey into musical composition.
